Configuration

Solar creates its YAML files in the plugin data folder on first start. Back up this folder before making manual changes.

The main settings file contains:

Setting What it controls
arena.offset, arena.y-coordinate, arena.column Layout of pasted arena instances in the match world
duel-request-expire-time Duel invitation lifetime, in milliseconds
party-invite-expire-time Party invitation lifetime, in milliseconds
lobby-location Player return and join location; set it with /solar set-lobby
kiteditor-location Kit editor location; set it with /solar set-kit-editor
teleport-to-lobby-on-join Teleport players to the lobby on join; defaults to true
rating-settings.default-elo Starting rating; defaults to 1000
rating-settings.k-factor ELO K-factor; defaults to 32
sounds Countdown, match start/end, win/loss, and party-disband sounds
whitelisted-match-commands Regex patterns checked against player commands during matches and kit editing
use-namespaced-commands Stored boolean setting
vicotry-match-commands, loser-match-commands Console commands run for match winners and losers
vicotry-round-commands, loser-round-commands Console commands run for round winners and losers
database-configuration SQLite or MySQL connection settings

The four command lists run commands as console and replace %player% with the affected player’s name. The two vicotry-... keys are spelled this way in the current configuration model; keep that spelling in YAML.

Despite its name, whitelisted-match-commands is used as a block list: when a regex matches a command, Solar cancels it while the player is in a match or editing a kit. The defaults block /queue, /duel, and /party commands in those states.

database-configuration.type accepts sqlite or mysql. SQLite uses a local solar.db file. For MySQL, set the host, port, database name (tableName in the model), username, password, and useSSL. Keep database credentials private.

  • language.yml contains player-facing messages, command help text, MiniMessage formatting, and the queue action-bar time format (%m for minutes and %s for seconds).
  • arenas.yml stores arena bounds, spawns, center, and schematic path. /arenas finalize writes an arena.
  • kits.yml stores base kit items, armor, offhand, effects, and flags. /kit finalize writes a kit.
  • queues.yml stores queue-to-kit mappings, enabled state, and queue flags. /queue finalize writes a queue.
  • schem/ contains the arena schematics saved by FAWE.

Solar’s data files are loaded at startup. /solar reload reloads the YAML configuration; restart after manually editing arenas, kits, or queues so their in-memory managers are rebuilt.

/solar maintenance toggles maintenance mode. It blocks new duels, queue joins, and party matches. It does not survive a restart.

Solar restores player state and sends players to the configured lobby when matches end. If a server shuts down with active matches, Solar logs a warning and terminates them during disable.
